Community Service Projects
Keeping an active hand in community service is one of the most impactful parts of being a member of our Club. Rotary Club of Tampa members are busy with monthly one day and ongoing service projects that keep us connected to the many great causes in our community. These events run the gamut and allow us to share our talents and experience with others, enjoy fellowship for a cause with fellow members, and learn more about the efforts of other local non-profit organizations.
Recent events have included a Hillsborough River cleanup for World Oceans Day, serving meals at Trinity Cafe, resume writing and job counseling at Metropolitan Ministries, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, sorting and packaging food at Feeding America, and healthy eating and cooking with Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.
In addition, one of the Rotary Club of Tampa's signature projects is sharing holiday gifts with local school students. Shopping, wrapping, and delivering gifts for nearly 150 Hillsborough County public school children is an annual tradition. It began decades ago when our members saw students in the community going without shoes and made it a mission to end that. Now, each December we provide clothing gifts to students referred from the district's Renaissance schools.
