The Rotary Foundation (TRF)

Rotary started in 1905 with the vision of one man - Paul Harris. He formed the Rotary Club of Chicago so that professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas, form meaningful, lifelong friendships, and give back to their communities.

Twelve years later, Rotary president Arch Klumph's idea for an endowment fund dedicated to "doing good in the world" planted the seed of the Rotary Foundation (TRF). Thanks to his vision and staunch advocacy, and to the extraordinary generosity of Rotary members worldwide, that fund has become one of the world's leading humanitarian foundations.

Our club members faithfully support the Rotary Foundation, and the club collectively has donated over a half million dollars to TRF over the years, earning our club matching grants for district and international service projects that further our mission. It is easy to contribute. Through the Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) program, regular donations add up, and Rotarians who have given $1000 + over the years are acknowledged as Paul Harris Fellows.
